Jean Patterson![]() Paintings from the Heart by Jean Patterson "I have always loved animals and the outdoors, and have been interested in art for as long as I can remember. Althought I was born and grew up in a small town in East Texas, I have lived in both Colorado and Oklahoma and have traveled throughout the western United States collecting Memories." "Both my mother and my grandmother were talented artists in both oils and china painting so my interests in art came natural. As a little girl, art became a way of expressing myself and being closer to something I loved. I later attended the Ross Myers School of Fine art in Tulsa, Oklahoma and attended various workshops under artists including Mel Fillerup, Ben Konis and Margarette Kessler." "Today , my passion for life and the emotions that are stirred when I see a beautiful sunrise, the impressive cloud formations of an impending storm or the dramatic colors of the sun lighting up a breathtaking landscape are my inspiration to capture these moments on canvas." "Texas Hill Country in the spring when the bluebonnets are in full bloom is indeed a magnificent sight. From the seas of blue as far as you can see, to quaint little farmhouses or old barns surrounded by majestic oaks and a carpet of bluebonnets have inspired a number of my painting, as has the crisp aromatic air of the Colorado Rockies and the soft pounding of horses hoofs on the soft moutain floor and trickling streams beneath towering pines." My appreciation of the beauty that I see in nature all around me and the love of art not only allows me to share these experiences with others, but visit these places again and again as I paint them and keep the memories forever alive. My paintings can be found in private collections throughout the United States. |
